Dave Boldy is the founder, managing director, lead guide and chief boot scrubber of GOGI. He is a highly accomplished Outdoor Educator who decided to establish this business to advocate for the value of Outdoor Learning in a variety of contexts.
Dave brings a wealth of experience, and in the field is an experienced Coordinator and Lead Guide. Dave has 20 years of teaching experience, and has built Outdoor Learning / Outdoor Education programs from scratch in a new startup school. Alongside developing GOGI, Dave works part-time in the Outdoor Learning Program of a large school and is studying for his Masters in Education.
He holds a Graduate Diploma in Outdoor Pursuits, Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment, Paddle Australia Enclosed Sea Kayak Guide qualification, and current First Aid and Aquatic Supervision qualifications. Dave is currently enrolled in a Masters in Education by Research, with a research project on the use of Design Thinking to re-imagine effective outdoor learning in WA Secondary Schools.
GOGI has available highly experienced staff to guide activities or support logistics as required on a program.
You can ask Dave to assist with designing Outdoor Programs, leading them as part of a program you are running, or delivering a full program to your group.
GOGI programs focus on thoughtful facilitation, considering what outcomes you have in mind and how outdoor learning can foster these. Reflective practice is a pillar of GOGI programs, with journaling and circle meetings used to draw out learning from the adventure experiences.
GOGI offers expertise in bushwalking and paddling programs. These offer nature-immersive, slow-paced continuous journeys that create excellent learning and growth environments.
GOGI is completing compliance requirements in order to start trading by January 2026. This includes finalising insurance arrangements, obtaining a Commercial Operators License for DBCA land, and other standard business establishment processes.
